Jan Fryderyk Dobrowolski (born July 9, 1944 in Poland) is a Polish classical and jazz keyboardist and composer.
He won first prizes at competitions in Kalisz, "Jazz on the Oder" in Wrocław, and the "Jeunesse Musical Festival" in Częstochowa. Initially recognized as a distinguished interpreter of Chopin, he later turned his focus to jazz and world music. In 1972, he performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival alongside bassist Zbigniew Bednarek (also known as Jacek Bednarek) as part of the Jan Fryderyk Dobrowolski Duo.
His unique live recordings with renowned saxophonist Charlie Mariano and castanet virtuoso Alberto Alarcon received high critical acclaim and enjoyed commercial success, thanks to their extraordinary musical settings.
